• Meet The Morphmoms

MEET THE MORPHMOMS... Morphmom now has an official blog on the Huffington Post!  I will feature stories of moms that I have interviewed with the hopes of bringing the morphmom movement to a much broader audience!...        Please enjoy the following excerpt from a recent post: Starring our very own Lisa McNamara!... It is 6:57 a.m. The school bus leaves in seven minutes (and the bus stop is a five minute drive). On my way out the door, a pile of mail, untouched for three days, catches my eye. As I wait for my son to come barreling down the stairs in his inimitable way, half-dressed and hollering that we're going to miss the bus, I begin to flip through the local newsmagazine. With half my brain, I register something about a mom and her foundation and make a note-to-self to circle back to it when...

MEET ASHLEY...Originally I didn’t really know what a morphmom was and what defines someone as a “morphmom”. I quickly learned after one day of watching Mrs. Smith. As we sit in her kitchen she is instructing us on the ins and outs of morphmom; she is simultaneously getting the kids ready for school, going over all three of the kid’s schedules, and taming their two dogs.    I guess you could describe it as organized chaos because somehow with all the different jobs and responsibilities Mrs. Smith is able to make the house run with as few bumps as possible... The mini morphs are diving right into morphmom.  The morphmom office (kitchen) has been busy with all types of projects such as blogging for the Huffington Post.

  • Mean Girl Mommies

Mean Girl Mommies...Meet the girls who rule the preschool...  We all know it’s been ten years since “Mean Girls” burst onto the screen. We’ve been inundated with tributes in print (New York Times) and online (The Coveteur). And although I appreciate the comparisons to the conniving politicos and fashionable cliques (brilliant, by the way), I think we’ve ignored one of the most prevalent cliques who really rule the school — the mean girl mommies. I’ll admit, I was late to the game. After spending 20 years working in the brutal media trenches, watching out for knife-wielding editors and buyers-are-liars celebrity publicists, I was ill-prepared for what I encountered on the first day of preschool. For it was there, a few steps from the carpool line, that I saw a row of empty booster seats.

“You can make anything by writing.”  -C.S. Lewis ..... Please follow our very own morphmom Elizabeth Schulte Roth, as she writes about both work and play in the Biltmoreparkstyle blog about life in Asheville, North Carolina. Here is a sample of her latest installment...something we can all relate to after this winter! ....SPRING FEVER...With less than a month to go before the first day of spring, we suddenly realized that we’ll soon have to ditch our heavy sweaters and boots for shorts and sleeveless. Yikes! Don’t know about you, but the polar vortex (and those pesky Girl Scouts) have wreaked havoc on our waistlines. Thankfully, our friends at the Reuter Family YMCA (828.651.9622) have recently introduced some new classes to kickstart our workout.

A little slice of Sundance... The Sundance Film Festival is the “it” event of the Film Festival season. It started in Utah in August of 1979 with Robert Redford as chairman. Sundance has grown rapidly over the years to become a launch pad for emerging actors and directors. At this year’s festival, there were almost 12,000 film submissions.
