Laura Taylor

 Founder of Mingle Mocktails

Laura Taylor, a high performing software executive, mother of two teenagers and happily married wife of over 20 years, found herself drinking too much- turning to alcohol to relieve the stress of balancing a family, career, and appearances of an ‘ideal’ lifestyle while feeling broken inside. With hard work and support of those around her, Laura quit drinking and got sober 5 years ago. While re-entering social situations, she found that her only option was bland seltzer, leaving her feeling uncomfortable and left out. Inspired by successful female entrepreneurs including Sara Blakeley and Tory Burch, who granted Laura an honorary Tory Burch Fellowship, Laura set out on a mission to remove the stigma associated with sobriety. In 2017, Mingle Mocktails was born, providing a healthy and delicious solution.

Laura set out to craft her beverage from only the purest ingredients. The booze-free beverage is low- calorie, low-sugar and made from natural botanical ingredients, for a refreshing alternative anywhere, anytime. Holly Daniels Christensen

Founder &CEO,  Dune Jewelry &Co.

Holly Daniels Christensen left home at 15 years old and never looked back, taking a variety of jobs with stints as a zookeeper, a pharmacy technician, a promotional model, a bartender and a cellphone, car and cruise salesperson.  And she spent 14 years as a top agent in Boston’s highly competitive real estate market.

Meanwhile, Holly also spent years collecting "memories" from her many trips to the sea.  Inspired by the motto “live for the moment, then take it with you,” she managed to accumulate a beautiful array of sands and other natural elements. In 2007, she took this passion one step further and turned these beach memories into unique, sand-filled jewelry designs that she made for family and friends while sitting at her kitchen table.

In 2010, she realized there was a broader demand for her jewelry and decided to turn her passion into a true business by starting Dune Jewelry.  Over the past decade, Holly has grown the business to incorporate sand and natural elements from over 4,500 iconic and memorable locations around the globe, including sand from beaches and ballparks, soil, earth from hiking trails, clay from canyons, flower petals, power stones, golf course grass and more.

Thanks to this unique “bootstrap” entrepreneur who proved over and over again that she was unafraid of hard work, Holly’s Dune Jewelry was voted the 2016 Woman-Owned Business of the Year for Massachusetts and New England by the Small Business Association (SBA).

Katie Darcy

Founder of FLAG - Summit, New Jersey

At the beginning of the Pandemic, an incredible organization was born- FLAG (Front Line Appreciation Group).  @FLAG.2020 was founded to help feed front line health care workers while simultaneously helping to keep local restaurants in business.  When Katie Darcy, a mother of 4, learned about the mission she immediately became involved and founded a local chapter in Summit, New Jersey. Along with her children and the help of the community she managed to raise over $20,000 on her very first day!

As a Business Manager with fifteen years of diversified experience within the non profit, financial and legal sectors, Katie put her experience to work and established an incredible team of volunteers. Primarily serving health care workers at Overlook Hospital, she managed to raise enough funds to simultaneously support local restaurants and businesses as well.  And with each month the program and the recipients have all grown as well.

Katie has been featured in numerous media outlets and was recently named a recipient of The Junior League of Summit's 2020 Jean Hudson Gano Community Service Award.

Gillian Stollwerk Garrett

Founder of Gilly's Organics

A dreamer, writer, speaker, inspirer, "mixologist," and wellness advocate, you can find this mother of three whipping up batches of sugar scrub (and other splendid goodies for her line of products), and filling the shelves your local (NY/NJ/CT) Whole Foods with her line of all-natural beauty products.

As a child Gilly grew up in her parent's pharmacy always "mixing things"... clearly a foreshadowing of her future. After college, she worked in cable TV and then as a writer for Estee Lauder for many years. CARA NATTERSON, MD, is a pediatrician, consultant, and New York Times bestselling author of puberty and parenting books. In 2020, she launched OOMLA, a company dedicated to making puberty more comfortable, literally.

Cara’s journey through health advocacy began at Harvard College, Johns Hopkins Medical School, and the University of California at San Francisco. Cara has served on several boards as a Director or Advisor, including Starlight Children’s Foundation, The Honest Company, Zemcar, Baby2Baby, and The John Thomas Dye School.

And when she’s not doing any of this other stuff, she is spending time with the people who make her all the better at it: her husband and two teenage kids.

Brett Russo

Author of "The Underwear in My Shoe"

After another call from the fertility clinic reporting negative test results, Brett Russo started to panic. Unrecognizable to herself after countless rounds of unsuccessful IVF, at thirty-eight she felt like a failure to herself, a disappointment to her husband, and the only female on Facebook without kids.

In The Underwear in My Shoe, Brett takes you on her journey through IVF, a story of personal struggle and isolation mixed with humor. She shows you that only when she truly lost herself did she discover her inner strength and a sisterhood in the other women going through IVF—discoveries that changed her forever.

Golf + Martinis = Golftini!

The Happier Hour

Susan Hess

CEO & Founder of Golftini

Golftini unknowingly erupted 15 years ago when owner and designer, Susan Hess, couldn’t find any stylish women’s golf clothes to wear on the course. She set out to the NYC garment district and found a sample maker, and designed her first skort. Soon after, Susan started selling skorts to friends and golf shops. After hearing about the PGA golf trade show, she signed up and received her first big order.

Sounds easy, right? No, not at all. While raising 3 boys, without a fashion degree or any business background she figured out how to make it work.  All along the way, she’s met people that helped her and still gives back when she can help others.

Brooke started her career in Non-Profit management and then discovered a love of all things technology (she was fixing everyone's computer issues and suggesting ways to upgrade their systems) and decided to get a Masters in Computer Information Systems from Boston University.

She went on to work at Postmates in Operations until she left 5 years ago when she realized the lack of flexibility it provided for her as a new mother.  Brooke went on to do freelance Web Development and IT Project Management before helping to co-found a co-working space for moms in Tacoma, Washington,, The Pod Works.  There she saw that moms had created their own little economy buying and selling each other's goods and services.  In an effort to get moms paid more and on a larger scale, Brooke took her tech skills and love for supporting mom-owned businesses and merged them into one idea, Allobee.

Allobee has become the one-stop shopping platform for small businesses, and startups, who need help either finding and/or providing their goods and freelance services.
